AIS
My AIS Reciever is a comar SLR200 which i used as a test bed for the project outlined in another page on this site, as the solent is very busy with both commercial and pleasure craft i have used to the AIS Reciever as a home based unit to allow me to follow the local traffic and with my interest in listening / watching ships it was ideal to use at home with a 3db antenna which gives reasonable coverage I use both Seapro Navigation Software and also ship plotter to monitor the AIS.
The AIS Reciever is coupled through a four port minicircuits recieve splitter, which is also connected to my VHF Recievers, allowing me to listen to local marine traffic, but not over fill my limtedspace with antenna's.
