A Little about M6FGP / 2e0swi

Well a little about me, I have many interests and hobbies, over the years these have snowballed into many area's, but i still seem to manage to find some time to do them all.

After Leaving School i studied electronics and engineering gaining a 1st National Diploma, this was whilst on the YTS Scheme, Having done this i then went for a complete change of career joing the County Ambulance Service as a Radio Operators in the Control room and progressing to the highest grade i could go, After six years i qualified as an Ambulance Technician after a year and half i then completed my Paramedic Course and became the second youngest paramedic in the service! and now current working towards a BSc.

I've worked all of my service with one service, seen many changes and faced many challenges, had good times and bad times, but still enjoy the challenges and work.

My Hobbies

So what do i get up in my spare time, we over the years i've been involved in lots.

During the late 80's and Early 90' I was involved with the Scout Communications team, running Support services for Scout Events all over the country, Following a break to concentrate on my career, I found other area's to volunteer in.

I was a member, committee officer and charity director for the a Local Inshore Rescue Service, spending 15 years on the committee!! and played an active part in maintaining and installing their IT and Communications Equipment (Both marine and PMR), I left this organsation in 2012 after 17yrs service.

I also volunteer as an instructor with the Royal Navy Cadets teaching the Cadets First Aid and how to deal with incidents, I also help with the Field Gun and look after them as thier medical cover, should they get injured, which thankfully they don't do very often.

Of course having had an interest in Electronics and Engineering I have a small workshop where i fiddle and build various contraptions and projects, I've self taught myself how to align communications equipment, I program many differing makes of PMR and Marine Equipemnt, and i also like to take various boxes and get them all working togther, I also build quite alot of my PC equipment!

I also am interested in photogrpahy and have built up a small gallery of my pictures, I prefer the Action Shot, but also the Shoot and See method, i think it generates a better image.

And of course i now have Amateur Radio to add to the list of Hobbies.

Not alot of Time is spare!

And i nearly forgot i design and build websites for friends.
